Food is pretty awesome, right? There are so many delicious foods in this world, but there’s no doubt about the fact that some of the tastiest food is the stuff that’s not very healthy. While we wish that we could gorge on burgers and fries without putting on weight and maintaining a healthy diet, that just isn’t possible. We also kinda wish that we could snack all day on some of the most delicious snacks that the world has to offer, but once again, that just isn’t possible. Thankfully, that doesn’t mean that you have to give up snacking altogether.
Chips/Popcorn
Chips are perfect for eating on the go or when you just need a little salt in your life, and there’s no doubt about the fact that we could demolish a whole bowl without a second thought. However, that doesn’t mean that they’re healthy. Chips are full of nasty additions such as saturated fat and salt, and eating a large amount of them can lead to weight gain and health complications. If you want to exchange these chips with a healthy alternative, then popcorn will be your friend. It’s low fat and tasty, and we’re not sure what else you would want.
Milk Chocolate/Dark Chocolate
Sometimes you just need some chocolate in your life, right? While most people opt for milk or white chocolate, what you might not realize is that these types of chocolate aren’t very healthy – even if you eat them in small amounts. If you’re looking for something that’s a bit more healthy but with the same sweet taste, then dark chocolate should be on your grocery list. Dark chocolate gives you that same sugar boost but is full of healthy vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, iron, potassium, and so much more.
Ice Cream/Frozen Yogurt
Ice cream is one of those snacks that most people can’t get enough of. It comes in all sorts of different flavors, and there’s no doubt about the fact that the sugar boost is enough to leave you wanting more. However, it should probably come as no surprise to learn that ice cream isn’t very healthy. The sugar and fat content is just too much for people to be eating on a regular basis, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t eat an alternative sweet treat. Frozen yogurt is the perfect alternative for those who want to eat something cold and refreshing, and it’s super delicious.
Candy/Dried Fruit
No matter how old you get, nothing compares to eating a bag of candy when you get home from work. It’s sweet, it’s fun, and it’s just downright delicious. Of course, it’s never good to have that much sugar in one go, which is why you should try and replace candy with something a little healthier. Dried fruit is a yummy alternative that can be switched up depending on what kind of fruit you like.
