Refreshing Drinks To Make In Summer That Are Much Better Than Sugary Soda

By Jessica Miller, Published on Aug 21, 2019
Everyone loves the summer, right? There’s nothing better than feeling the sun on your face and the heat on your skin, and it seems as though everyone is much happier in the summer. This is normally because this season allows you to sit out in your backyard without having to hold an umbrella or wear ten layers, you can head to the beach and swim in the ocean without getting hypothermia, and you can just enjoy the natural world. Of course, it’s important to stay hydrated during the summer months, so why not try out these refreshing drinks that are so much better than everyday soda?

Green tea

Did you know that you can also drink green tea cold? If you don’t want to add even more heat to your summer months, cold green tea could be the perfect option for you. Not only is this drink extremely refreshing, but it’s also very tasty! As if that wasn’t cool enough, green tea is also full of goodness that will help you stay fit and healthy during the summer months. It’ll make your skin glow, it will give you endless energy, and it will even help you get to sleep in the evening. If you fancy making your green tea a little sweeter, add a little dollop of honey into your cup.

Infused water

It’s important to stay hydrated during the summer months, and what better way to stay hydrated than to drink water? Of course, plain water isn’t exactly the most enjoyable drink in the world, which is why you can switch things up to suit your taste. One of the best things about infused water is that you can tailor it to your taste. You can make it sweeter with berries and citrus fruits, or you could cool it down with some cucumber and herbs. The opportunities are endless when it comes to infused water.

Homemade lemonade

The lemonade you buy from the store is normally full of artificial sweeteners, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still enjoy lemonade at home. While many homemade lemonade enthusiasts use large cups of sugar when making the refreshing drink in their own house, you can use stevia-based alternatives. Not only is this type of sugar low in calories, but it’s also low in carbs. It will still give you the same great taste, and you can opt to make a batch of normal lemonade, or you could add different flavors into the mix.

Fruit juice

Is there anything better than a cool glass of fruit juice? You could even make vegetable juice! Full of goodness and vitamins, these juices will not only give you that taste fix that you want, but it will also provide you with vitamins and minerals that will keep you safe as you enjoy the sun. Of course, it’s important to remember that fruit does contain a huge amount of sugar, so always drink fruit juices in moderation. When you can, try to balance out the sugar with some yummy vegetables.

Which one will you try first?
